One of the hard realities of living here on the beautiful island of Okinawa is that we get to meet great and amazing people but eventually we say farewell because they have to leave due to military obligations. That move is called PCS (permanent change of station). Okinawa is home for quite a large number of our U.S. troops. Okinawa has a bitter sweetness to it. Bitter because of the constant farewells and sweet because it definitely can be a beautiful retreat.
Before saying farewell I did have the privilege of photographing a super cool family days before they moved away. I was super blessed to capture their family dynamics in portraits.
